Our Commitment to Coral Sustainability At The Quarry Shop, we recognize that coral is one of the ocean's most extraordinary natural treasures. It is also a resource that deserves respect, protection, and thoughtful stewardship. For this reason, we do not support the harvesting of new coral for our jewelry designs. Instead, the coral used in our collections comes primarily from vintage and previously acquired sources, including estate collections, historic inventories, and responsibly sourced materials that have already existed in circulation for decades. Many of our coral beads were crafted years ago and have been given a new life through contemporary artisan design. By choosing vintage coral, we can celebrate the beauty and history of these remarkable materials without contributing to modern coral harvesting or placing additional pressure on fragile marine ecosystems. Every coral bead carries a story—formed naturally over time, preserved through generations, and thoughtfully incorporated into a new piece designed to be treasured for years to come. We believe sustainability is not only about what is newly created, but also about honoring and preserving what already exists.
