Onyx & Vintage Glass Statement Necklace
 
At The Quarry Shop, we are constantly searching for vintage treasures — pieces with history, character, and soul — and transforming them into meaningful, wearable art.
 
This one-of-a-kind necklace is centered on a stunning vintage, signed Roman sterling silver pendant, featuring a large oval Black Onyx gemstone set in a striking modernist bezel. The pendant is highly polished, with the gemstone in pristine vintage condition. Founded in 1953 by Melvin Roman, Roman Jewelry became known for its bold yet refined sterling silver work through the late 1990s, making this piece a beautiful example of mid-century modernist design.
 
The pendant is suspended from a curved sterling silver bar, allowing for gentle movement and adding a sense of fluidity and quiet drama.
 
To complement the pendant’s history, we curated authentic vintage beads, including:
• Vintage Cherry Brand Glass Beads (8mm)
• Miriam Haskell Vintage Glass
• Smooth Vintage Milk Glass Beads
• Circa late 1940s – early 1950s sourcing
 
To ground the piece and add depth and symbolism, we incorporated 6mm AAA Natural Rainbow Ice Obsidian gemstones, known for emotional protection, grounding energy, and helping release emotional heaviness.
 
Each bead is individually set on sterling silver pins. All accent metals — including chain, findings, and clasp — are .925 sterling silver.
